CHARLES SCOTT BELL
Creative Director / Filmmaker
I build brands and stories that make complex ideas feel human. To me, the most interesting art is what we experience through the creative and collaborative process — the connections and ideas we share with others. Professionally, I aim for clarity and empathy: bold ideas, clean systems, and leadership that helps multidisciplinary teams do the best work of their careers.
FEATURED PROJECTS
Afterlife
Writer / Director / Producer
In early 2024, I set out to create a near-future story about grief and technology that felt intimate, grounded, and emotionally resonant. I led the creative vision end-to-end — from concept and script to production design, brand system, and festival positioning. Directing a small but expert team of production, art, and post leads, I established a pharmaceutical-marketing aesthetic with minimalist design choices that reinforced the film’s themes.
The result is a high-craft, emotionally charged film that looks and feels like a seven-figure production, despite its micro-budget. Afterlife is now beginning its festival run, supported by a cohesive identity system (posters, a one-sheet, trailer, and website) that extends the built-in world beyond the screen.
CARTER COUNTRY
Director of Photography
In fall of 2025, I served as the Director of Photography for Carter Country, a documentary about Plains, Georgia, and the small, rural community that came to together to help Jimmy Carter win his historic 1976 presidential election. You can see more stills here.
Cat Family is where I learned how to be a director. Originally founded as a record label, I wanted to help build a platform for emerging artists and community storytelling in Tallahassee. What began as a DIY label grew into a nonprofit collective producing concerts, festivals, a publication, and a video channel. As Executive Director and President, I led branding, design, media, and event teams to establish a distinct identity that blended grassroots energy with professional polish.
Over nearly a decade, Cat Family produced more than 200 events, including Cat Fest, a multi-stage festival that combined live music with cat adoption drives and community partners, and launched Cat Family TV, a digital channel showcasing regional talent. The brand became a cultural fixture, elevating artists, engaging audiences, and shaping the creative identity of Tallahassee.

Twin OakS
Creative Director
I started my Twin Oaks journey as the Director of Impact for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tabula Rasa. Over time, my role evolved and expanded into Creative Director of Twin Oaks as a whole. There, I was responsible for elevating visibility and communicating complex youth-development and juvenile-justice programs to a diverse audience of stakeholders. During my tenure, I established creative standards, directed designers and communications staff, and mentored junior creatives while producing recruitment, program, and advocacy materials.

At both Twin Oaks and Boys & Girls Club, I also led creative programming, Art Kids 101, where I taught youth in detention and residential treatment facilities how to write, record audio and video, and independently pursue their own creative passion projects. Both the music video and mini doc featured here were written, recorded, and produced by students in two of the classes I developed and led.

MISC. Work
Political / Commercial / Other
Beyond nonprofit and film work, I’ve directed and produced a wide range of creative projects across formats and industries. These include political ads, product launches, and promotional videos designed to condense complex messaging and drive engagement. I’ve also created corporate communications, sketch comedy shorts, music videos, and branded content for businesses and community organizations.
Across these projects, I adapt my visual and narrative approach to the context needed — whether that’s high-polish corporate, scrappy grassroots, or culture-driven creative — while keeping a through-line of clarity, impact, and story.
